Devin R. Berg

I am an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. My main activities include conducting research in medical devices, robotics, and engineering education as well as teaching the engineering design process, engineering ethics, social justice, and other topics relevant to the practicing engineer. I am the director of two organizations focused on providing greater public access to engineering knowledge and for the promotion of open practices in the engineering field.

A brief list of my primary activities includes:

• Studying the implications of service-learning in higher education
• Designing and developing assistive technologies using robotics
• Acting as the founder and editor for The Journal of Open Engineering and leading our attempts to modernize academic publishing in engineering
• Directing operations for engrXiv, Engineering Archive, the eprint server for engineering
• Executive Director of Open Engineering Inc., nonprofit organization for the promotion of open practices in the engineering field
