Devin R. Berg

I am an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Stout where I am also the program director of the BS Mechanical Engineering program. My main activities include conducting research in medical devices, robotics, and engineering education as well as teaching a freshmen level engineering course discussing the engineering design process, engineering ethics, social justice, and other topics relevant to the practicing engineer.

A brief list of my primary activities includes:

• Studying the implications of service-learning in higher education
• Designing and developing assistive technologies using robotics
• Conducting the day-to-day operations of the BS Mechanical Engineering program, recruiting, assessment, and answering student questions
• Acting as the founder and editor for The Journal of Open Engineering and leading our attempts to modernize academic publishing in engineering
• Directing operations for engrXiv, Engineering Archive, the eprint server for engineering
